SILAÏ RUG ROSE

For her Silaï collection, designer Charlotte Lancelot has synthesized tile-like patterns using just four stitch lengths, which are hand-embroidered onto the rug using an innovative reinterpretation of the petit point technique. The Rose model is embroidered with thick pink, white, gray and yellow wool threads. Its different compositions, based on squares, triangles, diamonds, hexagons, octagons and crosses, are reminiscent of mismatched floors, often found in old houses.

Details

The Silaï collection reinterprets the basic foundations of petit point embroidery through a very specific review of this technique, applied both to the types of stitches and to the scale and thickness of the threads. The attractive patterns of the rugs, poufs and cushions that make up the series are based on just four stitch variations, hand-embroidered by Indian artisans with 100% virgin wool yarns on a PVC grid. The wooden auxiliary tables in this collection add functionality and make it possible to configure the Silaï space in the most versatile way.

Silaï, a GAN Spaces collection

GAN spaces are collections meticulously constructed from innovative concepts and artisanal production methods. Suggestive proposals that, stemming from a rug, are capable of bringing to life a whole family of modules and accessories with which to design an environment or “space”. A set of designs linked together, designed to project stimulating and contemporary atmospheres with an open, flexible and casual configuration.
