Details
The collection includes two sizes of modular seats, screens that may be used as backrests or dividers, and two cushions. When combined, all of these separate elements reinforce the sensation of cohesiveness. They all feature a different version of the same graphics.
The unique design of these seats is the result of a reformulation by Neri&Hu of the usual components of a sofa. For this reason, the backrest is also optional, conceived as a revised version of a movable screen or divider. The collection includes two module sizes. This one is the large version, with no backrest, and it includes an oak tray as a side table.
Lan, a GAN Spaces Collection
GAN spaces are collections meticulously constructed from innovative concepts and artisanal production methods. Suggestive proposals that, stemming from a rug, are capable of bringing to life a whole family of modules and accessories with which to design an environment or “space”. A set of designs linked together, designed to project stimulating and contemporary atmospheres with an open, flexible and casual configuration.
Neri&Hu, designers of the Lan collection
After graduating as architects from the University of Berkeley, California, Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu continued their training at Harvard and Princeton, respectively. Their first professional endeavors happened between California and New York, where they worked for several architecture studios, coinciding in the office of Michael Graves. In 2004, they founded their own studio in Shanghai, the Neri&Hu Design and Research Office, with an additional design practice in London. They work internationally in interdisciplinary projects of architecture and interior design, furniture design, lighting and decorative accessories. Their proposals are characterized by a need to revitalize traditional elements or handcrafted productions, something clearly visible in their collaboration with GAN.
