Its pattern in shades of pink, khaki and petroleum blue is inspired by the faceted sides of a diamond, from which overlays of geometric figures arise, with different degrees of opacity and translucency. Although it is made with plastic threads, these are so light that they can be woven in manual looms that are used to make kilims, and they are surprisingly soft to the touch.

The Diamond Nude-Petrol kilim is available in three sizes. The series also includes two other designs in different colors: Blue-Green and Pink-Yellow.

Diamond, a rug from our kilim collection

The kilim is an artisan method of rug making in which the weft is tightly woven on a manual loom, using only threads and no knotting. The result is a light fabric with no pile, similar to that of upholstery. It is a technique that offers great flexibility, a feature that GAN explores thoroughly to create high-impact details.

Charlotte Lancelot, designer of the Diamond kilims

Charlotte Lancelot was born and raised in Brussels, where she studied industrial design at the Higher National School of Visual Arts of Cambre. After graduating in 2003, she worked at the office of architect and designer Alain Berteau for two years, before founding her own studio. The work of Charlotte Lancelot is characterized by a deep contemporary revision of traditional techniques and references to the past with new textures and color palettes. Her personal style can be appreciated in all of her creations, including Canevas, launched in 2012, Silaï (2015) and Canevas Geo (2018).
