The Curve Naiad rug is made using an innovative type felt that simulates the texture of stone and is reminiscent of granite. Developed by GAN in collaboration with designer Patricia Urquiola for the Nuances collection, this felt can be made in a variety of shades, such as those present in this rug: gray, natural wool tones, two shades of green and an electric blue. Subtle handmade embroidery in viscose frames the seams. This model can be paired with a pouf in the same color palette, which works as a casual seat, as well as with the Line Naiad and Round Naiad models.

With a design that seems totally random and spontaneous, our Japan rug is manually knotted with 100% virgin wool in an attractive coral color. This manufacturing technique creates precisely that sensation of casual and fortuitous design the rug transmits, almost in the same way nature springs, in wild and heterogeneous ways. For its textured surface one may find multiple analogies: from a rain of petals, to fields of cherry blossoms, or a colony of marine corals.

Japan, made in an attractive coral tone, shows subtle color variations because it is made with tie-dyed threads, a method in which textiles are tied while being colored, applied in this case to individual wool threads. Japan was designed by the internal design team at GAN and it is available in two sizes.

Depending on the density or the orientation of the stitches, the patterns intermingle generating, different effects. It is embroidered by hand with stitches in multiple directions on a base of light pink felt, using orange, dark coral and white wool. Its design evokes cultivated fields seen from the air.

This is the gray model, embroidered by hand using yellow, medium gray and white wool on a light gray felt base. Because of its coloring, its asymmetric cut, and the uneven densities of embroidery, its design evokes cultivated fields seen from an aerial perspective. In addition to different colors, the patterns also adopt different directions in their stitching, revealing interesting overlay effects.
