BANDAS SMALL POUF C YELLOW

Reference: EBSPCYELLOW

Availability: 12 - 16 weeks

$1,380.00

This is the square C Yellow pouf from the Bandas collection, a piece that can be used as an individual seat and footrest, or in combination with the other large pouf of the same design. It is also the ideal complement for the modular sofas that can be created with the other Bandas elements, such as chairs and chaiselongues. Hand-embroidered with yellow and black wool threads, its seemingly random and spontaneous pattern is one of ten bands or runners that give the collection its name. It also features a unique orange border.

Details

Designed by Patricia Urquiola, the Bandas collection is one of our more flexible proposals. It is open to personalization, thanks to the varied aesthetic possibilities its color palette offers, and to its modular nature, which allows to configure and reconfigure the pieces for changing environments.

Bandas revolves around a set of ten individual runners that can be joined together through a simple velcro system, to create larger, modular rugs, and to cover the seats and poufs that make up the series. The possibility of using the same design in both the seating pieces and in the rugs produces a unique and original continuity effect between the seats and floor.

The collection is made by hand, using two types of textiles and techniques: a fine fabric, made on a manual loom, serves both to cover the modules and poufs and as a base for the runners themselves, on which the details are hand-embroidered and crocheted by artisans from India.

Bandas, a GAN Spaces collection

GAN spaces are collections meticulously constructed from innovative concepts and artisanal production methods. Suggestive approaches that, stemming from a rug, are capable of bringing to life a whole family of modules and accessories with which to design an environment or “space”. A set of designs linked together, designed to project stimulating and contemporary atmospheres with an open, flexible and casual configuration.

Patricia Urquiola, designer of the Bandas collection

Patricia Urquiola is an architect and designer of Spanish origin who settled in Italy after graduating from the Polytechnic University of Milan in 1989. After working with Italian masters of design such as Achille Castiglioni and Vico Magistretti, she founded her own studio in 2001. Since then, she has tackled very diverse projects, from furniture and lighting to ephemeral installations or the integral design of hotels. Her sensitivity to traditional handmade objects and international cooperation in the field of handmade productions led to the start of a fruitful collaboration in 2004 with GAN, which continues to this day.
