NUANCES POUF BURGUNDY

Reference: ENPUFBURGUNDY

Availability: 12 - 16 weeks

$1,340.00

This is the Burgundy pouf from the Nuances collection, a large seat with which you can add surprising three-dimensionality to the rugs of this series: Line, Round and Curve. The different elements of this collection can be combined with each other to compose dynamic and sinuous landscapes that acquire volume thanks to the poufs, transmitting an apparent sense of continuity. Made with a special type of felt developed by the Patricia Urquiola and GAN, its surface simulates a stone texture reminiscent of granite. This model mixes stripes of colors in gray, ecru, two shades of pink and maroon

Details

The innovative stony look of the Nuances collection is the result of a long product development process, carried out by designer Patricia Urquiola and GAN. The research process started with the search for a manufacturing method that would allow to recycle leftover fibers to obtain a felt agglomerate with a novel aesthetic. Nuances is, therefore, a collection developed with a sustainable goal in mind: reusing leftover wool that would otherwise go to waste to achieve an agglomerate material.

Patricia Urquiola has reinvented in this way a natural material, already exceptionally versatile, warm and malleable, to create a collection of rugs and poufs with a stunning aesthetic and unique compositional options - even colonizing vertical planes. In addition, it is made and sewn by hand, so that the entire Nuances collection is completely handmade.

Nuances, a GAN Spaces collection

GAN spaces are collections meticulously constructed from innovative concepts and artisanal production methods. Suggestive proposals that, stemming from a rug, are capable of bringing to life a whole family of modules and accessories with which to design an environment or “space”. A set of designs linked together, designed to project stimulating and contemporary atmospheres with an open, flexible and casual configuration.

Patricia Urquiola, designer of the Nuances collection

Patricia Urquiola is an architect and designer of Spanish origin who settled in Italy after graduating from the Polytechnic University of Milan in 1989. After working with Italian masters of design such as Achille Castiglioni or Vico Magistretti, she founded her own studio in 2001. Since then, she has tackled very diverse projects, from furniture and lighting to ephemeral installations or the integral design of hotels. Her sensitivity to traditional handmade objects and international cooperation in the field of handmade productions led to the start of a fruitful collaboration in 2004 with GAN, which continues to this day.
